Conference „Humanitarian aid and the empowerment of Ukrainians coming to the V4 countries – good practice”

The number of people who needed humanitarian aid in the face of the war in Ukraine is unprecedented in the history of V4 countries. The previous refugee assistance system turned out to be insufficient, and extraordinary measures were necessary. The aim of the „Humanitarian aid and the empowerment of Ukrainians coming to the V4 countries – good practice” project is to find, describe and select the best practices in the organisation of humanitarian aid and activities for the empowerment of refugees from Ukraine implemented after February 24, 2022, and to analyse the possibility of applying those practices in further activities for refugees from Ukraine and other migrants arriving in the V4 countries.

We invite you to attend the project’s closing conference. In the first part of the conference, the final research results of the project will be presented. Special attention will be devoted to present and discuss the good practices. In the second part of the conference, the Round Table Debate will take place. Participants of the debate will include researchers and practitioners, both project participants and those – both researchers and professionals – working on issues of humanitarian aid and refugee empowerment.

As part of the conference, we will present the book „Humanitarian Aid and Empowerment of Ukrainian Refugees. The case of Visegrad Group countries: Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia” that will soon be published by Routledge and available in open access.

The conference will be held on 12 June 2024 at the Institute of Political Science of the University of Wrocław. The conference will be organised in a hybrid form, on site with online transmission, to enable participation of all interested parties.

Liczba osób, które potrzebowały pomocy humanitarnej w obliczu wojny w Ukrainie jest bezprecedensowa w historii krajów Grupy Wyszehradzkiej. Dotychczasowy system pomocy uchodźcom okazał się niewystarczający i konieczne było podjęcie nadzwyczajnych działań. Celem projektu „Humanitarian aid and the empowerment of Ukrainians coming to the V4 countries – good practice” jest znalezienie, opisanie i wybranie najlepszych praktyk w zakresie organizacji pomocy humanitarnej i działań na rzecz wzmocnienia pozycji uchodźców z Ukrainy realizowanych po 24 lutego 2022 r. oraz analiza możliwości ich zastosowania w dalszych działaniach na rzecz uchodźców z Ukrainy i innych migrantów przybywających do krajów V4.

Zapraszamy Państwa do udziału w konferencji podsumowującej projekt. W pierwszej części konferencji zaprezentujemy końcowe wyniki badań prowadzonych w ramach projektu. Szczególna uwaga zostanie poświęcona prezentacji i omówieniu dobrych praktyk. W drugiej części konferencji odbędzie się debata o charakterze okrągłego stołu. Uczestnikami debaty będą badacze i praktycy, zarówno uczestnicy projektu, jak i osoby zajmujące się – w teorii i praktyce – kwestiami pomocy humanitarnej i upodmiotowienia uchodźców.

W ramach konferencji zaprezentujemy książkę „Humanitarian Aid and Empowerment of Ukrainian Refugees. The case of Visegrad Group countries: Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia”, która wkrótce zostanie opublikowana przez wydawnictwo Routledge i będzie dostępna w otwartym dostępie.

Konferencja odbędzie się 12 czerwca 2024 r. w Instytucie Politologii Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego. Konferencja zostanie zorganizowana w formie hybrydowej, stacjonarnej z transmisją on-line, tak aby umożliwić udział wszystkim zainteresowanym.
